June 10, 2009 - Book release party, actors needed, upcoming shows and free and legal downloads

Local poet Norm Milliken hosts a releases party for his new book When They Come With Guns Saturday at 6pm in Oil City’s  Transit Building’s Great Room at 6:00 pm (206 Seneca St, Oil City PA)

Tomorrow is the Pittsburgh 48 Hour Film Project Filmmaker Meet and Greet at 4pm at ArtDimensions (6000 Penn Ave.
Pittsburgh,PA 15206)

Wrong Island Productions is hosting a fundraiser show for The Butler Art Center on July 17th and still need one or two more bands.  Contact : Wrong Island Productions
(as a side note, Satin Gum, a great little pop band from Pittsburgh will be playing, making it worth the trip..)

Cabaret Pittsburgh, which showcased the talents of top-flight vocalists as well as emerging singers, is going out of business.


Pittsburgh’s Small Press Festival is next weekend.


Lionsgates Studio's movie Warrior is looking for men between the ages of 18-40 to be extras in the movie on two different dates.

One is a crowd scene this Saturday, 7/11 at the Petersen Events Center. The other is an Iraq scene on Monday, July 20. If you could pass for a marine and are willing to have a military haircut please send your name, phone number, age, height, weight and a recent photo of yourself to   $100/12 hour day plus lunch.

This Saturday is the Second Saturday Street Fair in Oil City which means the artists involved with the Oil City's arts revitalization will have open studios.  Also, although this almost escaped my radar, some of musicians who played the Oil Region Indie Fest will be performing in Pipeline Alley (Check below)
