April 1, 2009 – Rachel Sage at Venango Campus, CD Baby wants your merch (table) and Free and Legal Downloads

imageIndependent Music Award winner Rachael Sage will perform in the Robert W. Rhoades Center at Clarion University–Venango Campus tonight at 7:30 p.m., as part of the campus’ ongoing Coffee House Series. The event is free and open to the public.

The Village Voice describes Sage’s original songs as "lovely and literate folk-pop-rock." An innovative, improvisational keyboardist, Sage performs over 150 dates a year throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. A grand prize-winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, Sage has earned a loyal following for her infectious melodies & poetic lyrics, and has shared stages with such artists as Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, Judy Collins, and Ani DiFranco.

The Allegheny College Playshop Theatre officially opens the Gladys Mullenix Black Theatre in the Vukovich Center for Communication Arts in April with a production of Hart and Kaufman's You Can't Take It with You.

The play will be performed April 2-5: at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets are $7.50 for adults; $5 for non-Allegheny students, senior citizens and Allegheny employees. Although admission is free for Allegheny students with identification, they are asked to make reservations.
