January 13, 2008 Ben Kweller, Franklin Festivals,& T-shirts

DC is offering free downloads of some first issues including Swamp Thing, Sandman, and Y: The Last Man.

esprit cabane is offering a free, downloadable color-it-yourself calendar.

The City of Franklin has announced their 2009 festival schedule . There’s a mysterious Music Fest that starts on my birthday that I don’t remember seeing before – anyone know anything about it?

Area artists who do work depicting nature or wildlife are invited to display one or two pieces of their work (with business card and purchase price) in the ballroom of the Arlington Hotel during the PA Outdoor Writers banquet on Saturday, May 2. Artists must provide their own easels/display setups.
Please send email of interest and digital photo to Marilyn Black of the Oil Region Alliance at mblack@oilregion.org
Space is limited, so artists will be accepted on first-come, first-served basis.

Fiction Family is streaming their eponymous new album. I still can’t decide if $20 is a fair ticket price for their Grove City show.

Cynthia Closkey continues her interview with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Conductor of the Year, John Adams at her blog, My Brilliant Mistakes. She also has vouchers available for tickets to see the PSO.

T-shirt of the moment? Threadless’ Nature Call!.
