It’s another big weekend in Oil City:
The National Transit Art Studios (206-210 Seneca Street in Oil City, PA) will hold Open Studios Saturday, August 8 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Twenty artists from jewelers to photographers to glass artists welcome the public. Free admission.
Also on Saturday, The Peanut Butter Players from Ocean City, NJ will perform Seymour Barab's opera Little Red Riding Hood in the National Transit Great Room at 4:00 pm. Free admission.
Finally, on Saturday, Oil City’s Seneca Street hosts music by regional indie singer/songwriters:
Secretly Plotting Your Burial, Justin Parson, Pat Troester, and Newmen. All free. Nice.
Kiva Han Coffee Shop, Forbes and Craig, Oakland, will host poets Philip Terman (local author of Rabbis of the Air ) and Judith Vollmer as they read from their works at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Lionsgate Entertainment is looking for a boy to play the 5-year-old son of Russell Crowe's character in the feature film, "The Next Three Days," slated to shoot in Pittsburgh from September through December 2009.
Auditions will be held the weekend of August 8-9.
Local parents who would like their 5- or 6-year-old sons to be seen for the part should send an email to openaudition@gmail.com or call 412-488-CAST(2278). Please provide the child's name, date of birth and parent's name and phone number. A script, audition time and location will be provided by email and/or telephone.
Parents of identical twin boys in the age range are particularly encouraged to apply.
