May 20, 2009 – Summer Reading Lists, The Oil Region Indie Fest lineup and Free and Legal Downloads

I’m volunteering at the Franklin Public Library’s Used Book Sale today (map). Drop by and say hello! Speaking of books, I’m interested to know what’s on your summer reading list. Leave a comment and tell me what you’ll be paging through on the beach, park, or in your cube!

Scenes with a Greene - an evening of four theatrical scenes featuring Thomas Greene is returning to the Franklin’s Barrow Civic Little Theatre stage for a one night only performance of comedic and dramatic scenes, Friday, May 22, 2009 at 8 pm. The show also features Jamie Agnello, Molly Burkett and Jacob Krupitzer. Tickets at the door - $5.00 admission - monies to support developing Theatre In the Little Theatre programming. (map).

The Franklin Silver Cornet Band, one of America's oldest traditional town bands, kicks off its summer season at 7:30PM on Thursday, May 28th in Franklin’s Bandstand Park (map).

That should give you just enough time to read Peter Greene's stellar history of the group, Musical Service: The Life And Times of the Franklin Silver Cornet Band
