May 12, 2009 – Oil Fever, free concerts, art classes and free and legal downloads

 

 Oil Fever, Music of the Pennsylvania Boom a complete compilation recording of the 12 pieces of music contained in Margo Mong's Oil Fever Songbook will be released May 18 by the Franklin High School Black Knight Band.

Instructor Carol McDonald will open the summer session of workshops at the Oil Valley Center for the Arts in downtown Oil City with a weekend “Pastel Workshop” on  June 6-7. This class, geared for all levels of painters from beginner to advanced, will meet on 10:00-4:00 on both days. Class fee is $50 with a nominal Materials Fee of $6.

To register for either of these courses, students may send their $50 class fee (check payable to OVCA) to OVCA Classes, 206 Seneca Street, Oil City, PA 16301. For additional information call 677-3707. Classes will be held in the historic National Transit Building at 206 Seneca Street in downtown Oil City. Class size is limited and early registration is advised.
