February 12, 2009 – Bluegrass Festival, Local Auditions, Upcoming Shows and Free and Legal Downloads

The National Transit Art Center (206-210 Seneca Street in Oil City, PA – map) is holding Open Studios today and Sunday, February 15 from noon to 5:00 pm.

The Transit Art Studios house over twenty artists and artisans including painters, photographers, jewelers, metal-smiths, porcelain painters and stained glass artists. The public is invited to drop in and watch the artists at work. Sponsored by the Oil City Arts Council and are free and open to the public. CRAFT magazine will cease publication with its latest issue.

A slew of re-issue labels are bringing forgotten vinyl to the web.

Upcoming Shows of Local Interest:

Newmen play Brother Bean (3338 state rt. 257, Seneca, PA 16346 – map) tonight from 7pm – 9pm.  No cover. 

Don’t forget the aforementioned Bluegrass Festival.  Jerome Wincek and the Old Hats play this afternoon at 4:30 pm.  Admission by donation.

Accordionist Ed Bottegal will play a free show at DeBence Antique Music World (1261 Liberty St., Franklin, PA 16323) Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
