JPG is sponsoring the Fourth Annual Alternative Processes Competition hosted by the Soho Photo Gallery, the oldest artist-run photography gallery in New York City. The competition will be judged by photographer Dan Estabrook and is open for alternative process prints, including Cyanotype, Van Dyke Brown, Tintype, Bromoil, Platinum, Palladium, and Polaroid image transfers. The deadline is August 1, and the gallery will run November 6-29. Find more information, along with the entry forms, on the Soho Photo Gallery website.
It's Discover Presque Isle in Erie this weekend, and while that's vaguely interesting, what I'd like to draw your attention to is the great Google Map that Erieblogs.com put together for the fest - this would be a fantastic addition to Oil heritage, Applefest, or any of the other local festivals to take up.
