In preparation for the 2005 Shakespeare in The Park performance of the Tempest, auditions will be held June 25th at 2 pm and June 26th at 6 pm at Studio 22 at 340 Liberty St, Franklin PA.
The cast includes 9 roles with flexibility regarding race and gender. Auditions are open to anyone regardless of experience and require no special preparation other than reading from the script.
The production is scheduled for August 12-13th. Readings will begin in July..
"The Tempest," Shakespeare's last and most mysterious drama, is staged on an enchanted island where Prospero weaves his magical powers. Shipwrecked and confused, a number of noblemen, courtiers and attendants wander the mystical island from one strange encounter to another.
SATURDAY: Head south to the Jennings Environmental Center and check out Richard Pawling's award winning living history performance as he portrays a turn of the century Irish coal miner. Expect lots of Mollie Maguire and Mine Workers Strike of 1912 references. Show starts at 7:30 pm and is free.
